Going on 10 years - wow! Welcome back to the Westchester Skating Academy’s summer hockey camp. Our goal is to provide our campers with the opportunity to be successful in two important areas. Improving their individual hockey skills and improving their skills as a team player. We are happy to offer a wide range of Summer Ice Hockey camps to fill your needs whether you are a Mini-Mite, playing House League or competing at the Travel Level.
Our highly regarded coaching staff is back and will continue to offer the highest level of instruction to all players at all levels.

Our developmental hockey players can expect excellent training in Skating, Team play, Puck control / stick handling
Shooting and passing
The specialty camps offer focus on specific areas of the game whether you are a forward or a defenseman. If there is a certain aspect of your game you need to nurture, we can fill the need.

Additionally, all hockey players can anticipate spending their time off ice participating in great activities such as carpet hockey, soccer, street hockey, lacrosse and basketball. All activities are chosen with the goal of furthering your child’s athletic abilities.
No matter what level your hockey player is at, we have a program suited to them. They will have fun, and make new friends, while developing the skills necessary to take their game to a higher level next season.
The Mini-Mite / Rising Star: Half day camp for the hockey player ages 4 - 7. Players will have fun learning the basics and proper techniques of skating forwards, backwards, stopping, puck handling and shooting. Lead instructor Coach Jim Pellegrino.
Skill Development: Full day camp designed for players that want to round out all of their hockey skills. This camp is intended for players of all skill levels and will focus on skating techniques, puck handling, passing and shooting as well as team play. Lead instructor: Coach Walter Tchernigov
Goalie Camp: Full day camp intended for players of all ages and skill levels from beginners to advanced. Stations will be implemented to work and develop goalies according to ability, age and style. Lead instructor: Will Spodnik.
Conditioning/Sweat Camp: Full day camp offered to those players who are looking to jump start their season. This camp will challenge players on and off the ice and focus on intense skating drills with and without pucks. This preseason tune up is for the players who are willing to push themselves to improve their work ethic. Lead instructors: Dean Hall, Kevin Hagen, Judson Selig and Walter Tchernigov.
Elite Super Skills: Full day camp intended for players with above average skills. High intensity drills will challenge players both on and off the ice. A strong emphasis will be placed on more advanced and fast moving drills pushing players to a higher level of competition. Travel hockey background is a must!!! Lead instructors: Dean Hall, Kevin Hagen, Judson Selig, Walter Tchernigov.
Shooting/Scoring: Full or half day camp that will focus on finishing plays around the net. Intended for players who want to learn how to finish and be effective in game situations. Emphasis will be on using dekes, fakes, one timers and proper shooting techniques. Lead instructors: Kevin Hagen, Walter Tcherngov.
Puck Control/BATTLE GAMES: Half day camp which will focus on developing the stick handling skills it takes to get through traffic, play along the boards, and around the net. Small area battle games will be utilized to further develop quicker hands, better puck protection and being effective in tight spaces. Lead instructor: Kevin Hagen.
Power Skating: Half day camp intended for those players that want to improve their skating quickness, strength and agility. Emphasis will be on proper technique of starts and stops, edges, forwards and backward crossover's, tight turns and pivots. Lead instructors: Kevin Hagen, Judson Selig, Walter Tcherngov.
Defensive Skills: Half day camp for those players who want to learn how to play defense with and without the puck. Gap control, quick footwork, pivoting and transitional play will be covered. Lead instructor: Judson Selig.
Girls Week: This full day camp is designed for girls that want to develop all aspects of their game. Designed for girls of all abilities, the camp will focus on skating, puck handling, shooting & game situations. Work on your game and get to know other girls that play the game. Lead instructor: Nicole Kirnan.
Junior Goalie Week: Are you a new goalie? Only played in net a few times, or think that you would like to try it out? Learn the basics of playing goal and have fun tuning up the skills you already have. Angles, challenging the shooter, and an introduction to butterfly goaltending will be covered. This session is especially for house league & new goalies, age 10 and under.
